False Prophets Masquerading as Angels of Light
There are many things I do not like about Facebook and Meta, but one of them is that if you’re trying to leave a comment on someone’s post, but you need to look up a link, often when you go back Facebook auto-refreshes and you lose the post. I’ve just wasted 15 minutes of my life looking for an original post on a friend’s Facebook feed, sharing an article about “how empathy is now considered a sin by some in our political culture.” So I’m just going to post my comment here.
Please don’t mistake the announcements and opinions of Pete Hegseth or other “Christian UNnationalists” for a legitimate religion or faith. They are political manipulators seeking power, antichrists masquerading as angels of light. For help on this subject, I recommend reading Brad Onishi’s new book “American Caesar: How Theocrats and Our Tech Lords Are Turning America into a Monarchy.”
I spoke about this recently on a Facebook Live video I cross posted to YouTube.
I know it’s strong language, but it’s also true: Beware of false prophets, antichrists masquerading as angels of light.
““Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns or figs from thistles? In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will know them by their fruits.”
Matthew 7:15-20 NRSVUE
and
“For such boasters are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is not strange if his ministers also disguise themselves as ministers of righteousness. Their end will match their deeds.”
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 NRSVUE
and
“Children, it is the last hour! As you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. From this we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they did not belong to us, for if they had belonged to us they would have remained with us. But by going out they made it plain that none of them belongs to us.”
1 John 2:18-19 NRSVUE
and
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. And this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.”
